Makena Schwab is a 2D designer and animator based in Portland, ME. She grew up in Enfield, Connecticut, moving to Maine to study animation at the Maine College of Art and Design- achieving her BFA in Animation in 2024. Makena worked as a Freelance Animator and Designer for a variety of local businesses based in Maine.
Makena is a Co-Founder of Story Sparrow Collaborative, a small independent animation group that has had their films featured in multiple film festivals and contests.
Makena enjoys working on wild and wacky projects that allow her to conceptualize ideas in new and exciting ways. When she’s not holed up in her studio working on a project, Makena enjoys reading and spending time with her dog Mr. Owl.
